Coralberry is a jazz-style calypso tune inspired by a bush of the same name that I saw during a visit to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. I was stricken by the color and beauty of the bush, and heard lush harmonies and playful melodies. Yes, all that from a bush!
Balboa Park

Balboa Park is an upbeat, uptempo reggae tune based around modal chord changes. It is inspired by the park of the same name located in San Diego, California.
Crystal Clear

Crystal Clear is a medium-tempo tune with a soft rock groove inspired by sparkling ocean waters.

Driftwood Coast

Driftwood Coast is a calypso-inspired tune with a darker, more mellow mood than most of my other steel band music. I was inspired by foggy coastlines and rocky beaches when I wrote the piece.
Topsy Turvy Turtle

Topsy Turvy Turtle was written as a beginner-friendly introduction to playing steel pan, using relatively simple rhythms and harmonies. The piece tells the tale of a turtle who, despite frequent falls, always gets back up again.

Sun Speckled

One of my earliest pieces for steel band, Sun Speckled is a reggae-style tune that was inspired by rays of sunlight shining through the leaves of a tree down onto the ground below.
