Strange Attachment was commissioned by Alvin Phan and was the first of our now several collaborations. The piece is a quirky, spirited romp that features lydian sonorities and sliding chromatic moments, a somber, music box-like middle section, and a return to the humorous opening material after an extended cadenza.
